Community Tokens
Community token earning and governance voting are on the roadmap but not yet live. This page describes the planned system. Check the roadmap for timelines.
Beyond purchasing tokens, ikigize is designed so that valuable community contributions can earn tokens. The goal is a self-sustaining ecosystem where the platform rewards the people who make it better.
How earning will work
Community tokens will be awarded for contributions that create genuine value for other users:
Content contributions Creating reusable course templates, learning resources, or structured content that other educators adopt. Higher adoption rates mean higher rewards.
Community support Helping fellow learners in discussions, answering questions, and mentoring peers. Quality and impact — not volume — determine the reward.
Platform improvement Reporting bugs, submitting detailed product feedback, and participating in beta testing of new features.
Referrals Introducing new users and organisations to the platform. Rewards are linked to the referred user's activity, not just sign-up.
Governance voting
Token holders will be able to use tokens to vote on platform decisions: feature prioritisation, policy updates, and community initiatives. Votes will be weighted to balance individual and organisational influence — including caps to prevent any single party from dominating outcomes.
What won't change
Earned tokens and purchased tokens are functionally identical. Once in your wallet, they can be used for any token-consuming feature without distinction.
